It may be a major contender in the "Browser Wars" for functionality but if I can't see it, I can't use it. In my opinion they have gone way too far and entered the realm of the unusable for any user with less than perfect 20x20 vision. I have read somewhere that Apple Wanted to keep their native browser minimalist with unobtrusive controls so as not to detract from the pure browsing experience, as if a bit of colour and larger fonts with better contrast would somehow cheapen the product.

There are no Extensions that can be employed to customise the Menu Bar much less a library of Themes or Skins so the only coloured button on my Menu bar is my Password Manager extension which stands out like a sore thumb. Despite Safari's comprehensive range of preferences there are no appearance settings and, I might add, unlike other browsers no Search function within Preferences. The thing that annoys me most about that is there are no options to change it. Yes, there are workarounds, like using the Side Menu Bar for Bookmarks and Favourites, increasing the System Display Resolution but at the end of the day the standard Menu Bar design is inherently flawed. I use my 14" M1 MBP in Dark Mode for preference and although I'm sure my age and visual acuity plays a part I find the Safari menu bar with its predominantly grey on grey buttons and tiny font to be almost illegible. Despite all of the improvements in tab management, online security, password management, etc, it's the menu bar I really cannot stand. I never particularly liked it's menu bar but that was a small issue back in OSX 9 however today it has become the thing I dislike most. Over the years I have regularly revisited the Safari app in the hope that it would eventually fulfil my needs and yes, it is much improved but still has trouble opening some sites. From Netscape I made the logical transition to Google Chrome, then Firefox and so on, today I use Brave for preference.
